Tooth whitening with Philips Zoom Whitening lamp

Tooth whitening

My name is Grażyna Zajt and I have been dealing with oral prevention in adults and children for over 20 years. I gained professional qualifications in Germany, where I raised my skills for the first 10 years, performing hygienic treatments to prevent gingivitis and periodontitis , which I practice till today in Poland. I speak German fluently.

I provide presentations and training about periodontal disease in schools for future hygienists and dental assistant and practical in dental offices . I cooperates with Philips, Pierre Fabre, Johnson & Johnson. I also train with “ Safe office and overlay bleaching” (compliant with EU standards). Such training I organized in our clinic several times a year.

Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed is:

  • A painless procedure
  • Whitening effect lasting up to 2 years
  • Possible whitening up to 10 shades per treatment..

Lamp Philips Zoom White Speed provides the fastest and most effective way for light-activated teeth whitening. Advanced technology combined with the ergonomics of the device provides the customer with the comfort during whitening.

The whole procedure consists of just three 15-minute sessions with breaks for changing the gel. The Philips Zoom White Speed utilizes a patented "photo-fenton" reaction in the whitening process, which occurs between the hydrogen peroxide contained in the gel and iron. These compounds in combination form a hydroxyl group referred to as a "stain buster."

Whitening teeth before and after:

The light emitted by the lamp Philips Zoom White Speed cyclically renews the iron. This allows to maintain continuous production of hydroxyl radical groups and faster stain removal, which dramatically improves the whitening results. With this unique reaction it was possible to reduce the concentration of whitening gel. Philips Zoom White Speed is therefore the only system using a relatively low concentration of silica gel (6% H2O2), thus the whitening process is more stable and the obtained results persist much longer than competing systems.

The low concentration of whitening agents means reduction of hypersensitivity both during and after the treatment.

Clinical trials of the system Zoom! prove that no other whitening system offers such high
efficiency in such a short time. Whitening gel Zoom! uses patented Photo Fenton technology -a reaction between hydrogen peroxide and iron compound (the photoactivator contained in the gel).

After combining the two compounds, the molecule of peroxide reacts with iron, which yields free radicals, the compounds responsible for stain removal. By using appropriate wavelength and intensity, the light emitted from the lamp Zoom! periodically renews iron (returns it to unoxidized form) so that it continues to produce the stain removing compounds. This reaction, called the Photo Fenton reaction greatly improves the efficiency of the process of teeth whitening.

Tray whitening

- What is it and what results does it provide?

The customer receives trays made on the basis of previously taken impression and
special whitening agent. The set is individually tailored and dedicated for use at home. The agent is introduced into the trays in small quantities and they are placed on the teeth e.g. for the time of the sleep (about 4 hours). The treatment takes 5 to 12 days depending on the individual needs of the customer. During the treatment so-called "white diet" is recommended, any foods and beverages that cause staining should be avoided at this time (coffee, tea, cola, red wine, etc.).
